The State Historical museum and the State Historical museum Friends Society announce the beginning of the International Youth Creativity Competition “Saint Basil’s Cathedral: History, Soul and Beauty of Russia”.
The holding of the Competition is dedicated to the 450th Anniversary of Saint Basil’s Cathedral that is celebrated in 2011. Saint Basil’s Cathedral is one of the most recognizable symbols of Russia, a great creation of our forefathers, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Constructed by Russian masters as the monument to the glory of Russian arming, the Cathedral embodied the originality of Russian architectural art and became one of the true diamonds of the World architecture. It symbolizes the triumph of Russian spirit and creative genius.
As the witness of the history of its homeland and treasury for many relics and sacred objects Saint Basil’s Cathedral has always attracted Russian citizens’ attention and has been admired by foreign visitors.
You are given a unique opportunity to touch the great cultural and historical heritage of Russia, to open some unknown fridges in it and to express the admiration of the Cathedral’s beauty.
To participate in the Competition you can submit your creative Work in the following nominations: “Visual Arts”, “Cinematography”, “Literature”, “Photography”, “Music”, “Children postcard”. The Competition is held in one stage, application forms are accepted till December 10, 2011; Works must be submitted till December 20, 2011.
Any Russian or foreign citizen aged 16 – 35 (in the nomination «Children postcard» – children, no older than 12) can participate in the Competition.
Judging of the submitted Works and announcement of the results of the Competition are scheduled for December 23, 2011.
The gala award ceremony is to be held on January 19, 2012.
